Cybit’s Fleetstar is now deployed on Gilbarco’s fleet in five countries. The company said that the deployment includes an additional 170 vehicles across the Nordic region. This follows the successful implementation of Fleetstar throughout the 200-strong U.K. engineering team.

Gilbarco provides systems and technologies to companies in efforts to deliver on a range of maintenance and point of sales services for retail fuelling and adjacent markets.
The company said that its service engineers cover many stations in a large geographical area – which makes engineer allocation critical to the success of the company – both on planned maintenance and reactive jobs.

Fleetstar provides total vision over the whole business in real-time, and provides business-critical information that organizations need to execute a clear and rapid path to ROI.

With the help of Fleetstar, data relating vehicle performance is captured in conjunction with the location information, reported and analyzed. Company officials said that this allows meaningful business decisions to be made using up to the minute information on operational performance.

Additionally, the strategic importance of Fleetstar-generated information extends beyond vehicle tracking and into the heart of the enterprise; fleet derived information can be directly integrated into a range of business systems to improve the efficiency of the entire organisation.

David Coombe, European Service Director at Gilbarco, said that the goals of the company for vehicle based tracking have been to improve engineer productivity, reduce operating costs through better process and planning and to provide metrics that manage service level agreements with our customers.

“The U.K. installation made dramatic improvements to the competitiveness of our organization,” Coombe said. “Following our acquisition of Autotank Group of Tampere, Finland, earlier this year, we have now deployed Cybit’s Fleetstar across a further four countries.”

Additionally, Coombe said that the company has found that there are progressive layers of return on investment through telematics. These include quick wins on cost reduction through better engineer optimisation and strategic allocation of resources.

“In the medium-term we will look to integrate with our back-office systems. This will further streamline processes and result in more cost benefits,” Coombe added.
