has unveiled their new ConnectCore Wi-MX51 core module that is designed to accelerate the development of low power wireless multimedia devices.
According to Digi officials, the network-enabled ConnectCore Wi-MX51 is a highly integrated and future-proof System-on-Module, or “SoMm” solution based on the new Freescale i.MX51 application processor with a high performance 600/800 MHz ARM (

Alert) Cortex-A8 core, powerful multimedia capabilities, and a complete set of peripherals.
It combines industry-leading performance, low power consumption and easy design integration with key features like on-chip multimedia support, including multi-format 720P/30 fps video hardware decoding and 2D/3D graphics acceleration, dual-display interface, hardware encryption engine, dual 10/100 Ethernet option and 802.11abgn WLAN interface.
Digi officials also said that the new product features three industry firsts that make it ideal for low power, wireless multimedia applications. First, it offers connectivity on the newest ‘n’ Wi-Fi band for faster and more reliable wireless connectivity of display devices. The wireless enabled core module is based on Freescale’s new high-performance i.MX51 processor and Freescale has stated that their processor features high performance processing, advanced multimedia features and low power consumption ideal for a multitude of industrial and consumer applications and with the i.MX51 now integrated with Digi’s ConnectCore Wi-MX51, customers can now enjoy a fast time to market for network enabled display devices.
Along with the core module, Digi has also released complete and cost-efficient Digi JumpStart Kits for Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 and Digi Embedded Linux that allow immediate and professional embedded product development with dramatically reduced design risk and time-to-market.
Digi recently
unveiled Digi TransPort WR44 and
expanded AnywhereUSB product line.
