AT&T, KORE Telematics Streamline M2M Device Network Certification Process

Kore Telematics (News - Alert), a digital wireless services provider specializing in M2M communications, is AT&T's largest Value Added Reseller of M2M network services.

Together the companies will provide a streamlined network certification program for inbound non-stocked M2M devices from device manufacturers wishing to receive product approval for the AT&T network.

According to a press release, KORE has fine-tuned the process of network certification to include the streamlining of customer pre-qualification, creating a management base for integrators utilizing common module platforms. In addition the new program facilitates a “clear and concise channel” for developers funneling M2M integrated products into AT&T.

The streamlined on-boarding process is expected to shorten development time for system integrators. It is also expected to reduce cost and complexity through consistent exchange of information between integrators and AT&T before lab entry and during the testing phase.

The FL1850v2 telematics device from Fleetilla will be the first product to be piloted through the new on-boarding process.

"This new streamlined certification process eliminates many uncertainties in the product development roadmap and will significantly improve the time-to-deployment for vertical M2M device manufacturers," said Pradeep P. Kumar, President and CEO of Fleetilla, in a release.

"AT&T is driving wireless capabilities into a wide variety of devices beyond traditional handsets for businesses," added Chris Hill, vice president, mobility product management, AT&T Business Solutions. "Leveraging our global network, service delivery platforms, and expertise, we are enabling the deployment of M2M solutions that fit our customers' needs across a range of industries and accelerating time-to-revenue for our customers and partners. Working with KORE Telematics, we can bring even more non-stocked M2M devices onto the AT&T network in an efficient manner."

KORE Telematics made news in October when it announced that it had launched PRiSM Pro, an advanced portal for the real-time management of CDMA and GSM network services for M2M applications.
