I had a chance to pose several questions to Richard A. Peters, President/CEO of Vixxi Solutions, about the state of the company, his outlook on the market and more.

RT: What has been your company’s biggest achievement in 2007?
RP: Our greatest achievement in 2007 was to create several new strategic relationships that will prepare us to be even more competitive and aggressive in our marketplace.

RT: What can we expect to see from your company in 2008?
RP: Continued growth, new products and a fully deployed network system by April, 2008.

RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?
RP: The market will continue to move further away from the large ILECs, generate several very important strategic private networks, and fragment into communities of interest.

RT: How have presence, SIP and video changed your business?
RP: They are our business!

RT: How do you think the future of the market looks?
RP: We look forward to continued customer demand and increased requirements for more bandwidth.

RT: Are you growing more quickly in the U.S. or abroad?
RP: 2007 growth is in the U.S.

RT: Do you see the large service providers like Verizon (News - Alert), AT&T and cable companies as allies or enemies?
RP: Enemies.

RT: Is open source software changing your corporate strategy?
RP: Open source software is a crock.

RT: How about hosted solutions?
RP: Hosted solutions remain marginalized as long as the price does not match the customer’s perception of the value.

RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?
RP: No idea.

RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO (News - Alert) this month?
RP: A revolutionary, new telecommunications switching matrix based on spatial information instead of class of service.

RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?
RP: Any company that is interested in dynamic georeference routing changes that happen instantly.

RT: Why should customers choose your company’s solutions?
RP: It is unique, one of a kind and patented technology that moves telephony into an entirely new era of switching possibilities.

RT: Please make one surprising prediction for 2008.
RP: In order to maintain bureaucratic control of telephony, the FCC (News - Alert) will move heavily into the VoIP market with many, many new regulations.
