Wireless Logic, which claims to be Europe’s largest independent M2M connectivity provider, is investing over £1 M (US$ 1.5M) million in upgrades to SIMPro, its provisioning platform, which currently manages and monitors hundreds of thousands of SIM cards across the U.K. and Europe.
Key objectives include reduced support costs for systems integrators (SIs) and the ability to ability to offer new services such as real-time data visual display, data-mining and disaster recovery.
Phil Cole, co-founder and sales director, believes the platform’s ‘One Window’ view is becoming an essential tool for SIs managing large SIM estates, who may be hemorrhaging profit through an inability to manage and monitor estates over multiple networks: “Many systems integrators find it difficult to manage their estate, especially as the numbers increase. Many redundant connections remain active and can prove costly over time. Performance is also an issue – the quicker a problem is identified, the quicker it can be rectified.”
New features will include real-time GPRS monitoring and analysis, AT Command Device Management, which removes call out costs, and SIMDev, which is a platform that allows SIs to decouple application development from legacy systems. This will facilitate the development of Android, Windows and Samsung (News - Alert) Bada applications.
