United Oil has claimed that they have decided to use Lantronix' ManageLinx and EDS (News - Alert) 1100 solution in order to address the challenges in implementing and managing its remote access infrastructure. The EDS1100 is unique, hybrid Ethernet terminal/multiport device servers which allow remote access to and management of virtually any IT/networking equipment or edge device such as medical equipment, POS terminals or security equipment. The EDS provides bullet-proof security by offering a variety of robust data encryption and authentication options.

Don Bridinger, IT manager at United Oil has said that a key driver for their business is the ability to effectively manage their customers' fuel inventory with as little stress on station-owner resources as possible. After an exhaustive search, they selected Lantronix for their technical expertise and ease of implementation. In less than an hour, their team had their first station up and running, network-enabling their location and delivering data through a centralized, standard interface. Not only do they anticipate significant time and cost savings, but this will also free up United Oil’s employees to focus on what's most important to their company reinforcing their "I Got It" culture and customer service attitude that's made their a successful enterprise.

Lantronix’ president and CEO, Jerry Chase added that United Oil is a perfect example of a business model ideally suited for ManageLinx disparate business units with a wide variety of new and legacy systems, some networked-enabled and some not all requiring the sharing of sensitive, mission-critical data with a headquarters location . They are thrilled to be working with the United Oil team, and look forward to helping them save time and money, and to their continued success.
