Berkshire, U.K.-based Siretta Antennas, a provider of machine-to-machine “M2M” antennas, announced the rolling-out of its Echo 12 GSM/GPRS/3G antenna for embedded M2M applications.
According to Siretta, its new Echo 12 is a multi-band cellular antenna. It features a small size of 24mm x 5.5mm x 4.4mm as well as efficient, omni-directional performance. This facilitates for better transmission/receiving sensitivity and power consumption than competing designs.
Primarily developed for designers of M2M industrial equipments, the Echo 12 is made of high grade ceramic in order to ensure durability even in extreme environments such as industrial and automotive electronic sectors.
The new Echo 12 multi-band cellular antenna covers all worldwide cellular bands such as 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 and 2100MHz for GSM, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, WCDMA, and HSDPA.
In addition, the new Echo 12 can be integrated off the shelf, without the need for customization and additional NRE charges. It is also delivered in tape and reel format and is ideal for mass production and can be surface mounted, thereby saving on assembly costs.
Officials with Siretta said in a press release that Echo 12 is unique in the market for its size and stable connectivity than many other designs.
“The Echo 12 is the result of years of understanding the mobile communications market and the development of very stable substrate materials offering high grade performance” said David Taylor, business manager, Siretta Antennas. “Few other SMT antennas can match the Echo 12 for the combination of size, durability, stability and frequency range.”
In August, Siretta Antennas had released a new 10dBi gain dual band TNC female external whip antenna, called as Oscar 12, which is targeted for industrial GSM/GPRS, 3G and 2.4GHz applications. This bracket mounted antenna provides double digit gain RF performance.
