Industria Colombiana de Electronicos y Electrodomesticos S.A., Incelt S.A. and Earthrise Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of the Digisec Group, have a signed a partnership deal to jointly sell, implement, and service after-market and Tier 1 telematics solutions for the Latin American automotive Industry.
Digisec’s newest product line, the Eco-Navigator after-market telematics system, is designed and marketed by Earthrise in North American, South American, and EU countries. The Eco-Navigator, and its innovative Eco-Way telematics software program, is the core platform that Incelt and Earthrise will deploy with various automotive OEMs in Latin America. The partners report that initial testing with OEM customers is currently in progress
In a press release, Jim DiSanto, president of Earthrise Technologies, said, “We are delighted to be working with Incelt to pursue the Latin American telematics opportunity. This market is unquestionably one of the brightest spots in the global automotive industry.” DiSanto named two key trends driving the market for telematics including the need for OEMs and their automotive dealerships to have more visibility into the operation and on-the-road performance of the vehicles they make and sell, and the desire of the motorist for safer, more eco-friendly driving, and for internet connectivity while on the road.
“Ideally, these needs would be met by factory installed telematics systems, however, that scenario is still years away for most OEMs. As such, the Eco-Navigator offers a very cost-effective, feature-rich, stop gap measure. The product can be installed and operational within 5 minutes, and provides great value for all three constituents – the driver, the dealer, and the manufacturer,” DiSanto added.
The Eco-Navigator is reportedly the world’s first TRUE ecoDriving and ecoRouting internet-connected portable navigation device “CPND”. The device connects to the vehicle’s diagnostic bus and is able to read important vehicle information – fuel consumption, CO2 emissions, speed, odometer, trouble codes, diagnostics tests, and more. This data is read in real-time, and displayed to the driver in a meaningful way, thereby helping save fuel, reduce emissions, and improve safety.
Equally important, the Eco-Way web portal software enables OEMs and their dealerships to closely monitor their customers’ vehicles to ensure safe operation, adequate and timely maintenance, and compliance with warranty conditions.
The Eco-Navigator also features a state-of-the-art 3D navigation system with millions of searchable POIs, Text-to-Speech, and internet connectivity, thereby assisting the motorist during daily driving and extended trips.
The Eco-Way Portal features a summaries of all trips taken, as well as providing very granular, detailed vehicle (minute-by-minute) performance data if requested.
Recently, Earthrise was in news when it signed a partnership deal with Telenor Connexion to deploy Eco-Way solutions in the North American market.
