Pro Softnet Corporation, a provider of cloud based storage and remote access offerings, announced an expanded feature set for its contacts backup application for iPhones, IDrive Lite.
IDrive Lite allows backup of contacts and helps in restoring the functionality of iPhones, Blackberries and supported Android (News - Alert) devices. With IDrive Lite, contacts can also be transferred among multiple platforms. The app is now enhanced to add location information of contacts. Users should opt in for this service, however. The contacts appear on a map on the iPhone (News - Alert) platform. Efforts are in progress to include this functionality in other platforms.
IDrive Lite claims to be a leader in contacts backup for smart phones, especially iPhones. K. Raghu, president and CEO of IDrive.comm said, “With the addition of the new opt-in location tracking feature, IDrive Lite now has the ability to both backup contacts as well as provide location tracking.”
Raghu says that it is possibly the company’s first step towards making Contacts social.
“We believe it will be very beneficial for families and friends to track their location with strict privacy controls and without being part of a very public social network such as Facebook (News - Alert),” Raghu added.
With over 15 Million contacts backed up, IDrive Lite provides a compelling solution for sharing location information among them.
According to Pro Softnet officials, IDrive Lite now includes features like backups and restoration of contacts. It also has multiple platform support to allow transfer of contacts between devices.
