As the trend to utilize asset tracking technologies grows, the companies in this field are reporting increased business. M2M Data Corporation, a provider of remote asset and equipment management and monitoring solutions, served more than 10,000 assets across all of its business divisions. M2M provides remote monitoring and control services to the oil and gas, water/wastewater, power generation, and heavy equipment industries.
With the help of its remote monitoring solution, M2M is currently monitoring 10,348 unique assets and more than one million unique data points. Through Internet-hosted solutions that provide alarm notifications, conduct diagnostics and streamline maintenance and dispatch operations, Remote monitoring helps those responsible for distributed assets, such as water tanks, pump stations, flow meters and compression equipment.
“In today's environment of smaller budgets and higher expectations, it's no surprise that more owners, operators and managers of field equipment and remote assets are turning to hosted monitoring solutions," said Jason Weinberger, M2M's VP of strategy and business development, in a press release. "Our clients own and operate a vast array of equipment. Whether they're monitoring a natural gas compressor or a wastewater lift station, they need to do more with less,” Weinberger added.
As owners and operators recognize a need to streamline maintenance more than ever, the customer base of the company is growing rapidly, states M2M. Streamlining maintenance provides advantages such as predictable operations, reduced downtime and an extended life of the assets. M2M Data Corporation has been leveraging SaaS (News - Alert) to deliver remote asset management and monitoring solution.
Recently, the company teamed up with Automation & Electronics Inc., to sign a memorandum of understanding that outlines a preliminary teaming agreement between the two companies. The term of the MOU is six months within which time both companies will put forth best efforts to reach a definitive agreement.
