CINTERION claims to be sole profiting vendor in the M2M Module Market


Gemalto (News - Alert) Group’s cellular arm CINTERION has announced that it is controlling about 26 percent of cellular M2M modules market and is the only top vendor profited in 2009 with revenues of €145 million.

CINTERION stated that its claims has now been ascertained and confirmed by IT research firm Gartner as well as ABI Research.

“The M2M market is gaining momentum with growth expected to exceed 106 million units shipped in 2015 and we expect CINTERION, with its proven experience across many vertical markets, to continue its strong performance in 2010,” said Sam Lucero, practice director, M2M Connectivity, ABI Research (News - Alert).

CINTERION has been the definitive embedded cellular M2M module market share leader since 2003, the year when ABI Research first started tracking the market.

CINTERION has never been in a better position than it is today to grow its business and expand the overall M2M marketplace, stated CINTERION’s CEO, Norbert Muhrer (News - Alert).

In the last six months, CINTERION has strengthened its presence in key vertical markets including metering, telematics and mHealth. The Company was recently honored with Oracle’s (News - Alert) Duke’s Choice Award for integration of its innovative TC65i and EGS5 Java powered modules in mHealth solutions.

 More than two and a half million Java modules have shipped in the last year. CINTERION launched five new products in recent months including: EU3-E, EU3-P and HC28-J Advanced Platform modules for European and Asia Pacific markets; BG2 M2M Value Platform module for new M2M market entrants; and AGS3 Automotive Platform module with LGA surface mount technology.

CINTERION products are used for industries including: healthcare; automotive and eToll; metering; remote maintenance and control; payment systems; routers and gateways; security systems; tracking and tracing; environmental monitoring.
