LaFox, an Illinois-based Richardson Electronics (News - Alert) company, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with RTP, NC-based ClearConnex so as to accelerate the launch of wireless devices in the market. As per the MOU, LaFox plans to sell the ClearComm platform on key wireless products which include OpenAT OpenAT based modems from Maestro and Sierra Wireless (News - Alert) including any Sierra Wireless Modules with OpenAT Operating System support.
As a wireless device software development company, ClearConnex developed the ClearComm platform and is planning to expand its current services to Richardson to provide second level support for wireless modems and modules customers. In a release, Chris Marshall, Vice President RF & Wireless, at Richardson Electronics said that, “Finding M2M wireless device software that's flexible and effective is difficult. Our customers can now purchase key wireless devices from us with the ClearComm Solution preloaded and they won't have to invest another cent on hardware, mechanical design or software development. This is a M2M industry first.” He added further that customers can also add additional features or update capabilities on ClearComm software using the customizable M2M communication platform thus reducing significant customer development time.
In a release, Manuel Zepeda, President of ClearConnex said that, “Our ClearComm Platform is setting a new standard of excellence in compatibility and flexibility in the M2M wireless device software world. Richardson's interest in selling our software with key OpenAT OS-based Maestro and Sierra Wireless Modems and Sierra Wireless Modules speaks for itself.”
