The increasing demand for mobile and allied communications services suggests growing business for Syniverse Technologies, which has expertise in a full range of network, messaging and roaming solutions to support a wide range of players in the mobile ecosystem, including machine-to-machine (M2M), cable, multiple system operator (MSO), Internet, voice over Internet protocol (VoIP) and application service provider companies. The company has added 65 new customers this year.
Given the global mobile subscriber count has crossed 4.7 billion, and rollouts of a wide array of smart phones and connected devices like the iPad and Kindle, Syniverse President and CEO Tony Holcombe (News - Alert) said that demand for mobile is undeniable.
“New and growing mobile players are quickly realizing they need capabilities like reach, interoperability, and a robust network to support their role in the mobile ecosystem,” Holcombe said in a statement. “This is where Syniverse (News - Alert) comes in, thanks to our more than 20 years of success making mobile work for large and small mobile operators worldwide.”
One important partner for Syniverse is long-established M2M leader Numerex (News - Alert), which recently signed multi-year agreements for Syniverse solutions that expand the reach of its network and application service platforms to more than 200 countries around the world.
By building on a broad range of services from Syniverse, such as Syniverse PRIME IPX Solution, Sponsored Roaming for GSM, SS7 Signaling Transport - INLink and Mobile Enterprise Services, Numerex can now offer a complete global M2M platform to companies in a variety of vertical markets, allowing its customers to track and monitor goods and services all over the world via a single interface.
“Because of Syniverse’s extensive mobile expertise and global capabilities, we’ve been able to further expand our international application and network service offerings rapidly and efficiently,” said Stratton Nicolaides, Chairman and CEO, Numerex. “Syniverse’s focus on service integrity effectively complements our own company’s emphasis on information security.”
In other news, Syniverse Technologies (News - Alert) announced that it’s serving as the exclusive provider of roaming business management services for 11 of Telefonica’s (News - Alert) properties across Latin America. This is expected to speed up the implementation of hundreds of roaming agreements, and ultimately reduce roaming time to market.
