According to an announcement, WebTech Wireless Inc. will now be providing Quadrant remote asset management for over 270 units in its heavy equipment "yellow iron" fleet to Texas-based Strike Construction LLC (Strike), a leading pipeline construction and maintenance services company. WebTech, a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, expects to complete the installation of Quadrant WT5000 Locators, including Roadvault™ environmental enclosures by year end.
The two companies have been associated for over four years during which Strike has been using Quadrant for tracking, dispatch, fleet optimization and maintenance of its support vehicle fleet.
However, after evaluating Quadrant hardware for reliable operation under harsh conditions and on a wide variety of equipment thoroughly, Strike decided to equip its yellow iron fleet, which includes equipment such as excavators, bulldozers and pipelayers. The Quadrant hardware creates geofences to detect the unauthorized use or movement of equipment during off-hours, which helps Strike with theft prevention and recovery.
"When you have millions of dollars of mobile assets on the ground, often in very remote locations, knowing where they are at all times is critical from a management, safety and loss-reduction standpoint,” said Mike Ward, manager Fleet Compliance, Strike Construction LLC in a statement. “We've been very pleased with the performance and reliability of Quadrant over the past four years, and adding Quadrant to our yellow iron fleet will now provide us with even greater peace of mind,".
"We're very pleased that Strike has decided to extend Quadrant to include its yellow iron fleet,” said Harald Fritz, WebTech Wireless' (News - Alert) vice president, Sales Quadrant Fleet Solutions, in a statement. “We've been working closely with them these past few months to ensure that our solution meets their specific needs, and once again we're demonstrating that Quadrant, and our team, can provide real business solutions for very different industries."
