AT&T Named Leading Competitor in M2M Services


AT&T announced it has been ranked by Current Analysis (News - Alert) as a leading competitor in Machine-to-Machine (M2M) services.

Current Analysis’ recent report commended AT&T for its flexible plans, real-time diagnostics, and M2M customer support company officials said. The report, “Machine to Machine Services Market: Competition Heats Up,” acknowledged AT&T's (News - Alert) strength in M2M implementation strategy and mobility services organization.

"AT&T is focused on driving wireless capabilities beyond traditional handsets into a wide array of devices," said Michael Antieri, president of Advanced Enterprise Mobility Solutions for AT&T Business Solutions, in a press release. “Our investment in mobile applications, connected devices, and a team with strong industry expertise has enabled AT&T to achieve leadership in the emerging M2M space.”

AT&T’s M2M services are proven beneficial to companies across different industries. The company continues to develop new technology, opening new avenues for mobile connectivity.

AT&T is involved in offering two-way communications to a variety of businesses, connecting power meters, trucks, containers, cars, pipelines, wind farm turbines, vending machines and more.

It also provides targeted consulting services, custom design and deployment services to simplify the technology adoption process, company officials said. Current Analysis cited AT&T's customer care as one of the reasons for its M2M superiority.

According to Current Analysis, AT&T “stands out as having one of the most comprehensive M2M services portfolio, with a strategy likely to succeed in the market.”

As demand for M2M capabilities grows and competition from other providers increases, AT&T is well positioned to expand its M2M services, company officials said.

Recently AT&T announced a 3G Access Program which lowers the barrier to 3G adoption for connected device developers.

Teaming with leading equipment makers Ericsson, Huawei (News - Alert) and ZTE, AT&T is expected to certify a total of 11 mobile broadband modules for the 3G Access Program, company officials stated.
