“AT&T is focused on driving wireless capabilities beyond traditional handsets into a wide array of devices. Our investment in mobile applications, connected devices, and a team with strong industry expertise has enabled AT&T to achieve leadership in the emerging M2M space. Companies across many different industries will benefit from AT&T's M2M services, especially as we continue to develop new technology – and, as a result, new possibilities for mobile connectivity,” said President of Advanced Enterprise Mobility Solutions for AT&T Business Solutions, Michael Antieri, in a statement.

AT&T currently delivers two-way communications to a variety of businesses, connecting power meters, trucks, containers, cars, pipelines, wind farm turbines, vending machines and more. For its customers, AT&T provides targeted consulting services, custom design and deployment services to simplify the technology adoption process. According to Current Analysis, AT&T's M2M superiority on a large part can be attributed to AT&T’s impeccable customer care.

“AT&T stands out as having one of the most comprehensive M2M services portfolio, with a strategy likely to succeed in the market,” said analyst, Kathryn Weldon, in the Current Analysis report. The report also concluded that as demand for M2M capabilities grows and competition from other providers increases, AT&T is well positioned to expand its M2M services.
