Telemetry Labs joined hands with CoreGuard to form a strategic partnership to bring next generation information security technology to the Machine-to-Machine (M2M) industry.
To bring complete turnkey M2M solutions to market requiring high availability and scalability, Telemetry Labs uMesh Technology has been used by OEMs. Allowing its customers rapid product development and speed to market with minimum capital outlay, the company’s technology is front-end device and network agnostic, the company stated.
M2M refers to technologies that allow both wireless and wired systems to communicate with other devices of the same ability. The technology uses a device to capture an event, which is relayed through a network.
“The integration of WindTalker technology will allow uMesh to go beyond what is currently utilized by government and private industry today,” said James English, CEO Telemetry Labs, in a press release. “Traditional security protocols utilized today evolved from enterprise IT network practices whereby electronic security is tightly coupled to physical security of the network assets. However, M2M assets are outside the “four walls” of network administrators requiring the use of VPNs, total file and packet encryption.”
Allowing customers to apply Role Based Access Security (RBAS) from the sensor to users, CoreGuard’s WindTalker Platform provides end to end encryption agnostic information security. CoreGuard’s WindTalker technology name pays homage to the code talkers of World War I and II whose encoded communications based on Native American languages and dialects was never cracked. WindTalker uses “native cryptography” to encode sensor information and communications rapidly and securely just like the Native American code talkers of the past.
Lots of developments are taking place in the M2M field in the recent time. In December 2009, Sierra Wireless, a provider of various wireless solutions, announced the newest version of its fully integrated environment, “M2M Studio Version 1.1.1,” for the development of embedded M2M software. M2M Studio, in general, is a fully integrated development environment that facilitates developers to create, develop, compile, download, debug, as well as test their applications.
