iMETRIK Solutions Inc., a global enabler of machine-to-machine (M2M) embedded wireless solutions, is recognized as one of the top 100 M2M companies worldwide for the third consecutive year.
This recognition from Connected World Magazine is said to have come based on a number of criteria, including strength and number of customer references; establishment in the market; growth potential; and active involvement in and support for the M2M community. In addition to iMETRIK, other companies listed included Cisco, GE, Google, IBM Corp, Motorola (News
- Alert), and Honeywell.
“iMETRIK is honored be once again recognized as a leader in the M2M space but most importantly that our efforts are being measured against the very best technology companies is incredibly rewarding,” said Guy Chevrette (News - Alert), chief executive officer at iMETRIK, in a statement.
“2010 was very busy with the introduction of the “iMETRIK-recover” GPS for BHPH dealers, the iMETRIK SIM chip for superior global GSM connectivity and before the end of the year, all our embedded devices will feature a processor with four times the power of our current unit and that will deliver unprecedented results for our clients – its better, cheaper, and best of all, faster,” Chevrette added.
iMETRIK Automotive designs and manufactures compact devices with more processing power and faster wireless connectivity. The company acts as a wireless carrier or mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to complete its end-to-end quality delivery model. iMETRIK completes its turnkey solutions by providing its customers logistic support, customer care, installation and wireless network monitoring and tracking.
In recent years, iMETRIK is said to have invested in the development, testing and manufacturing of embedded GPS devices provisioned with SIM chips, a substantial improvement of the traditional SIM cards. The SIM chip is made of heat resistant silicon in order to withstand the harsh automotive environment and extreme temperatures that the GPS devices are often exposed to.
The company recently announced that the 100,000th device embedded with a SIM chip was shipped out to its clients.
