America Movil Enters Partnership to Offer Jasper Wireless' M2M Platform


Jasper Wireless, which enables mobile network operators around the world with platform, applications, and design services to serve the emerging machine-to-machine (M2M) and embedded devices markets and America Movil, a provider of wireless services in Latin America, entered a partnership agreement that will offer Jasper Wireless' (News - Alert) M2M (machine-to-machine) platform across America Movil's properties in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean.

Officials with Jasper Wireless said that the platform will allow the mobile operators to profitably connect and manage enterprise applications such as transport and logistics, e-health care and tracking.

According to company officials, Jasper Wireless provides America Movil with a single platform which automates operations for M2M businesses deploying on the network.

"We are seeing an increasing demand from customers requiring M2M solutions to help simplify complex deployments and meet market opportunities more quickly. Jasper Wireless has developed a single, complete platform that enables device manufacturers and service providers to build and grow a connected device business, “said Jahangir Mohammed, chief executive officer with Jasper Wireless, in a statement.

Mohammed said that the company is proud to partner with America Movil to accelerate market entry for M2M devices throughout Latin America.

America Movil's service will be commercially available from early Q1 2011. Financial terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Recently Jasper Wireless and Telefónica announced a strategic partnership to wirelessly connect machine-to-machine (M2M) and consumer electronics devices.  

The Telefónica Control Center, powered by Jasper Wireless, enables M2M enterprise customers & device manufacturers to profitably connect and manage embedded mobile devices, advancing their design and market introduction.

The Telefónica and Jasper Wireless collaboration will accelerate market entry for a new generation of connected consumer devices, including PNDs, e-Readers, digital photo frames, cameras, and gaming. Additionally, it will bring automation and advanced control features to enterprise applications in sectors such as automotive, smart grid, tracking, security and mobile healthcare.
