XtremeSignPost, Inc., a leading RFID-based services provider, recently launched its latest consumer-based mobile radio-frequency identification (RFID) advertising service.
Based on XtremeSignPost’s U.S. patent 7598869 and U.S. patent 7843334 issued on Nov. 30, the integrated system for the mobile RFID advertising has been entitled, “Method to promote and distribute multimedia content using radio frequency identification tags.” The customer-based advertising is promoted through the sharing of consumer experiences using SMS, instant messaging, e-mail, or social networks such as Twitter and Facebook (News - Alert) via RFID-enabled mobile phones, which in turn recall and share consumer experiences from personalized RFID-tagged stickers on consumer products.
The consumer-based advertising promotes personalization of commercial items, viral marketing, brand name identification, consumer loyalty, and customer satisfaction, by utilizing the RFID technology to integrate outdoor adventures, cell phone, mobile computers, and commercial products. The users can record any event, and then create links to the particular information on to the RFID stickers. The stickers can be retrieved, replayed or shared from the mobile phone as audio, video and text files, with a single touch. Some of the experiences recorded and shared at present include travel, fishing, riding a bike, cooking, jigging, Twitter, music, snowboard, and outdoor adventures, to name a few, using a Nokia (News
- Alert) 6212 mobile phone.
The mobile RFID advertising, better known as the “The Internet of Experiences,” was launched at the Stonegate Pastry, Coffee and Video shop in Davis, Calif., where XtremeSignPost’s interactive RFID stickers were placed and Nokia 6212 phone was used. The advertising system has also been designed to work with the Nexus S cell phones running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which will be released presently, as well as Nokia’s Symbian (News - Alert), Apple’s iPhone, ISIS Mobile Payment, and Google’s Gingerbread platforms.
The Davis, Calif., area was chosen due to its vibrant community consisting of youngsters for the most part who are active in social media by using computers, cameras, and cell phones; commitment to biotechnology; world-class university, as well as close proximity to the Bay Area. The RFID technology primarily allows the user access to the consumer-based information in a mobile setting, which enables the customers to upload their personal reviews, videos, and messages. Also, frequent up loaders are rewarded.
In a release, the CEO and president of XtremeSignPost, Inc., Dr. Monto Kumagai, said, “Eat a pastry and share it, too. This place was recommended by friends.”
