Intrinsyc Software International, Inc., a provider of solutions for mobile and embedded devices, launched its iQ Development Kit. The company claims the new kit provides developers utilizing Qualcomm's (News
- Alert) compact and powerful Internet of Everything Modules with a low cost, high performance development platform for creating real-time, location aware solutions.
The kit is very flexible in its design and enables accelerated hardware and software development, evaluation, and testing. According to a press release, the Internet of Everything Module from Qualcomm enables ubiquitous 3G connectivity in a very small form factor, and in a variety of devices, including advanced mobile phones, machine-to-machine (M2M) devices and a growing number of connected consumer electronics.
This small device can be easily integrated into next-generation Internet connected devices. Intrinsyc's iQ Development Kit is a comprehensive development package incorporating an iQ expansion Board and an IEM Wireless Module along with a wide variety of external peripherals including a camera, Bluetooth, keypad, display, GPS, radio antennas and expansion connector.
The iQ Development Kit supports voice and data connectivity through one of the following four unique versions of the IEM Module: GSM/HSDPA, GSM/UMTS (News
- Alert), CDMA2000 1X and EV-DO.
Jack Steenstra, vice president of Engineering at Qualcomm said that the iQ Development Kit from Intrinsyc simplifies the process for creating new wireless devices and applications based on Qualcomm's Internet of Everything module. He added, “It's a pleasure to see companies such as Intrinsyc providing these helpful products to the developer community.”
Alkarim Kassam, vice president, Global Engineering for Intrinsyc said that the Internet of Everything Module is designed for a variety of devices and applications including telematics, asset tracking, wireless health and smart grid technology.
