The Environmental and Natural Resources Division (ENRD) of the U.S. Department of Justice (USDOJ) has purchased a license of Relativity, including Relativity Analytics.

The announcement was jointly made by kCura , which has developed the e-discovery review platform Relativity, and TechLaw Solutions, a pioneer in litigation support and electronic discovery management.

According to company’s sources, ENRD has also purchased Method, kCura's legal hold management solution.

Relativity, a flexible, scalable, easy-to-use e-discovery platform, is ideal for the review, analysis, and production of electronic evidence, said the company. This unique platform provides flexible workflow capabilities, as well as accelerated review and improved investigative processes through Relativity Analytics, and the identification of conceptually similar documents.

kCura notes Method is a Web-based workflow and notification system that runs on Relativity and built in conjunction with several leading law firms.

This system provides a centralized way to efficiently manage legal hold and risk assessment activities. Thanks to Method's flexible feature set, users can initiate legal holds, interview custodians to gather information, track and analyze responses, and generate reports to maintain a defensibly-sound audit trail, all through customized and repeatable workflows.

Both Relativity and Method were purchased through TechLaw Solutions, which manages a GSA (News - Alert) contract for government purchase of the Relativity platform.

"We're pleased that ENRD has selected the Relativity platform along with Method," said Andrew Sieja, president and CEO of kCura. "We look forward to working closely with their team."

Earlier this week, Equivio, a software provider focused on enabling customers to effectively manage data redundancy, announced that the level of integration of its technology with kCura’s Relativity review platform has been tightened.
