Bitrix, a developer of advanced business communications platforms to bridge SMBs with their customers (Internet), partners (extranet) and employees (intranet), has recently announced the release of reports on a survey conducted by the company.
The survey lists the top 10 most popular intranet collaboration benefits that enable organizations to improve their internal efficiency and raise workforce productivity. It is based on the analysis of more than 1,000 real life installations of Bitrix in small and medium sized businesses (SMBs).
The survey has indicated that SMBs prefer and opt for simple collaboration tools with the shortest possible adoption period, providing step-by-step intranet adoption and includes most commonly used features and ends with heavy-weight functionality. Bitrix forecasts that by 2012, the top 10 lists may have many major changes based on the growing need of businesses to implement comprehensive collaboration features.
The shortlisted popular intranet collaboration features include: employee availability and presence tracking, enstant messaging and video conferencing, eeetings or conference room management, virtual workgroups, shared documents, workflow management, routine processes automation, information and expert discovery, idea management and social networking and task management. This list shows that the most used and most popular Intranet collaboration and adoption patterns are corresponding with each other.
However, the list does not reflect the correct positions of the features as task management, shared documents and content search should be higher up on the list rather than presence tracking, instant messaging and meetings management.
In a release, the President of Bitrix, Inc., Dmitry Valyanov, said, "Over the past years, businesses have realized that intranets are no longer the luxury or the exclusive domain of large enterprises. Affordable and easy-to-use solutions deliver a set of obvious advantages to small and medium-sized businesses by improving collaboration, simplifying communications and strengthening the team spirit with social networking features.”
He added, “Our mission is helping small and mid-sized organizations to leverage the opportunities of cutting-edge web technologies, extend their online business footprint, and increase business performance, visibility and effectiveness. The end goal is to bolster your competitiveness in the modern digital economy."
With more than 40,000 customers and over 4,000 partners worldwide, the key customers of Bitrix include many well-known international brands including Volkswagen, Hyundai, KIA, Panasonic, Toshiba (News
