Andy Stuart and Jon Bryan have created what they say is the world’s most advanced tracking collar for dogs, i.e. dogs that run away. Their canine tracking solution, known as Retrieva, employs GPS, GPRS and RF technology in order to deliver the dog’s location to the owner’s mobile phone.
Retrieva was a joint development with Viewranger, specialists in topographical mapping, and system integration specialists Triteq who brought all of the technologies together. In addition, the collar boasts a number of technical firsts that are being considered for other non-canine applications.
One is “I.C.You,” which will geo-fence the collar by powering it up once the device has crossed the geo-boundary. This solution negates the need for “always on” GPS positioning, a battery draining problem for any remote device.
So, if you have a dog that you want to keep your eye on, go to www.retrievatracking.com.
