Quartix, which was founded in 2001 by four industry professionals, has reason to be proud of itself as its vehicle tracking system appears to be the best in the market. With installation approaching 2,000 a month, the top telematics provider in U.K. believes that it has outperformed all its competitors — a fitting culmination to almost a decade of existence.
In a press release, Andy Kirk, sales and marketing director, said, “It’s marvelous to be able to celebrate our tenth anniversary in this way. We are installing almost two thousand units a month, and we know of no other U.K. telematics provider that is coming anywhere close to this.”
Kirk attributes the remarkable success to a number of factors including the company's policy of transparent pricing, simple rental options, and excellent customer service. He added that the Quartix system was regarded as the most robust and reliable in the market and was backed not only by a comprehensive warranty but also by a highly dedicated and committed team.
Quartix experienced similar success in the “pay-as-you-drive” insurance market, which it entered just four months ago. Immediately, it received a major contract to supply online insurer Coverbox with 15,000 vehicle tracking systems, amounting to some 1200 units a month over the first year. Company officials believe that within a year, commercial fleet operators will also be looking to use PAYD insurance cover. Not only will such a move allow them to pay only for mileage covered, but will also enable officials to monitor driver behavior and isolate those that pose a higher risk.
Kirk commented on how useful the insurance cover would be. He said that it could enable fleets to predict those drivers who were most likely to have an accident, or if any of the drivers were exceeding speed limit. In addition, it wouldn't be long before insurers adopted this type of model for their corporate fleets.
Quartix recently opened an office in Paris and also launched its French-language Web site, clearly signifying its intent to expand into Europe. Given its excellent all round abilities, this move is not very surprising.
