Bridgewater solutions support more than 10 million devices, on a range of worldwide service provider networks. Secure device access to 3G and 4G networks is managed by these solutions. These solutions also provide real time meter device usage. Numerous M2M applications are supported by these deployments. These include smart meters for utility companies, automotive infotainment services, in-vehicle tracking devices, and mobile payment services.

Bridgewater solutions also support model complex device network entitlements. Dynamic metering and Quality of Service or QoS control for devices is supported by the Bridgewater Policy Controller/PCRF. Secure device access to mobile data networks is enabled with the device service control provided by the Bridgewater Service Controller. Bridgewater's Subscriber Data Broker anchors Policy Controller and Service Controller. Operators are able to model devices and their corresponding network entitlements in logical groups with this common subscriber and device identity management platform.

In a release, David Sharpley (News - Alert), SVP of Bridgewater Systems said, "With demand for M2M services expected to grow exponentially, security, scale, and performance are all key concerns for service providers. Bridgewater is uniquely positioned to support this new market opportunity."

Sharpley added that the service providers are given the proven solutions needed to manage secure device access to networks with the company’s intelligent broadband control portfolio. This portfolio also provides solutions for model device entitlements, and meter device consumption of network resources in real time.

According to Shira Levine, directing analyst of Next Gen OSS and Policy at Infonetics Research (News - Alert), human transactions will be outpaced by M2M transactions over the next several years. This will drive investment in solutions. The high volume micro transactions that are associated with M2M traffic will be therefore supported.
