In a release, John Keough, Yankee Group (News - Alert) research associate and author of the report, said that “Of the four main U.S. carriers, AT&T has one of the longest tenures in the M2M space, having enabled M2M deployments for 11 years. Over the past decade, AT&T (News - Alert) has certified close to 1,000 different M2M devices and more than 200 software solutions for use on its network. And AT&T continues to expand to new areas, including container monitoring, solar panel and smart grid monitoring and remote health care, all which can benefit greatly from wireless network connectivity.”

AT&T continuously strives to enhance the business productivity of its customers by incorporating wireless capabilities into a multitude of physical systems not essentially limited to the traditional mobile phones. AT&T’s whole host of strong partnerships, connected device subscriptions and innovative centers has been cited as its main potency areas by the Yankee Group report. A whopping 11 million emerging devices have already been connected to the AT&T network including prepaid and postpaid computing gadgets for both businesses and consumers.

The successful delivery of AT&T’s exciting M2M offerings to its business customers can be ascribed to the contribution of the highly resourceful and organized employees of its mobility squad including customer care representatives, technology experts and talented sales forces. AT&T’s continuous endeavor in developing highly developed and more innovative uses for M2M applications and its secure stance as the leader in the M2M space have been well complemented by the investment being made in fetching the correct expertise for providing adequate assistance to customers in thoroughly understanding and effectively utilizing M2M applications.
