Encompass Digital Media, a leading provider of premier broadcast operations and advanced digital technology, has recently announced that it has formed an agreement with Venera Technologies for its Pulsar Automated Content Verification System for automating its content QC operations. Venera specializes in providing cutting edge solutions in the field of digital media. Venera’ Pulsar has been designed to provide improved operational efficiency for its customers by automating their content QC processes.

Automating the verification of content format, structure and quality is an important requirement given the diversity and volume of the content processed each day. The audio-visual content includes multiple delivery mediums such as Traditional Digital TV, DTH, IPTV (News - Alert), Mobile TV, VOD, Digital Cinema and Blu-ray/DVD, with its own set of unique requirements on the content format, structure and quality. Pulsar, as a file-based automated content verifier system, has been designed for use by broadcasters, content providers and service providers, in order to seamlessly automate content QC at various stages in the workflow such as Ingest, archive and playout. Its process includes content conformance and quality analysis as well as a wide range of custom checks defined by the user. Pulsar is a high performance system that enables many hours of broadcast content analysis per hour and also, offers most comprehensive set of automation capabilities allowing significant improvement in operational efficiency while ensuring consistent content quality at different stages in the workflow. Pulsar is essentially a web-service and can be integrated easily with third-party automation systems or workflow.
