Elecsys Corp. has announced that it received an order for remote monitoring systems to be delivered to the United States Department of Defense.
Karl B. Gemperli, CEO at Elecsys said that the company is excited about the initial order for Elecsys remote monitoring equipment for the Department of Defense.
Initially, the order for 50 WatchdogVIP remote monitoring units is expected to be deployed. Company officials said that deployment will help monitor cathodic protection systems used by the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps throughout the world.
In the next two months, the company plan to ship the ordered systems. Almost half of the equipment is expected to be used on domestic military bases, while the other half is slated for deployment overseas, said company officials.
“Our dependable and field-proven WatchdogCP wireless monitoring systems are ideally suited for harsh conditions and remote locations and we believe they will be a reliable long-term solution,” Gemperli said.
Elecsys is a developer and manufacturer of machine to machine (M2M) data acquisition, telemetry, analysis systems, and custom electronic assemblies for critical industries. The company’s proprietary equipment and services encompass rugged wireless remote monitoring, wireless industrial communication, mobile computing, and radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies that are deployed wherever high quality and reliability are essential.
“The U.S. military represents a significant business opportunity for Elecsys and we anticipate additional orders in the near term,” Gemperli said.
