nPhase Announces New M2M Developer Program

nPhase, a Verizon Wireless and Qualcomm joint venture, announced a new machine-to-machine (M2M) developer program, nPhase ONE.

nPhase ONE will be a single M2M application development platform with support and advanced M2M capabilities engineered for deployment on Verizon and Vodafone (News - Alert) mobile networks.

“Businesses today are seeking to manage remote assets by deploying wireless M2M applications that run on powerful mobile networks, such as those offered by Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) and Vodafone,” said Steve Pazol, president of nPhase, in a statement.

“The nPhase application development platform dramatically reduces costs and time to market for enterprises that need to develop robust, world class M2M products and services deployed on these networks,” Pazol added.

nPhase ONE is expected to become the connecting link in M2M for device OEMs, application providers and enterprise customers. Its support includes a developer website with online support and community forum, toolkits, developer test environments, training and implementation support.

“We see tremendous possibilities for nPhase ONE to support developers interested in providing tools and applications for the M2M customer,” said Todd Murphy, director, Verizon Developer Community at Verizon Wireless.

nPhase ONE is designed to enable capabilities embedded into devices for device OEMs. nPhase device-side application software can be installed on approved devices to enable connectivity management.

To application developers, nPhase ONE offers Unified Web Services and device-side application programming interfaces (APIs) that automate the provisioning, monitoring and control of wireless M2M devices.

In December 2010, nPhase announced it will leverage its M2M cloud platform and Terremark’s IT infrastructure services to deliver the highest levels of availability for M2M enterprise management software.
