Viewbiquity's Cloud Interface Platform Provides Device Interoperability in a Single Package

What could you do if you could leverage one platform to connect all your devices and operations so that interoperability was guaranteed and only one interface was necessary to make everything work as expected? This is the concept behind Viewbiquity and Carl Ford, M2M – Community Developer, recently talked with Ton Shafron, CEO of Viewbiquity in the ITEXPO (News - Alert) newsroom.

Viewbiquity offers a cloud-based open source M2M platform and the company has built a number of applications with Java script in the job function. The Viewbiquity cloud interface is a platform that allows you to connect devices, processes, video, VoIP and more, into one connected platform so users can tie separate systems together and view them in one package.

The platform provides a level of APIs so apps can be developed so devices can work together and talk to each other. Apps can be written by anybody and are accessible to developers throughout the world.

Vertical channels can take the Viewbiquity platform and target toward their user base. A service provider can take a hardware/software service they may offer and combine with devices to push down to their subscribers using the same platform.

“Our belief is that the end user does not want specific vertical applications to integrate a range of devices. They want an integrated package,” said Shafron. He went on to note that users want to tie everything together into one platform. This way, there is an exponential return to their integration instead of focusing on getting deeper into just one application.

Clear2There is a new partner for Viewbiquity. This partnership is important because Viewbiquity builds the platform and enable partners to bring it to market. Clear2There is a master distributor that will bring apps they build around the Viewbiquity platform to bring them to market.

According to Shafron, Viewbiquity can add value to existing solutions by allowing systems to move some of their platforms into the cloud. The hospital industry is one area of focus, but is difficult to work in just because of HIPPA. There are opportunities to move information and solutions to the cloud in a way that adheres to these regulations.

Shafron also highlighted that nothing stays resident on the system and instead resides in the cloud. The threat of hacking and other issues related to exposed data are reduced and every login is a read only – so users cannot edit or change anything once it is pushed to the cloud and off-site. This allows organizations to push events off their networks and systems and ensure they are more protected.
