Telematics providers, Cybit and Masternaut have created a new pan-European telematics company by joining forces, in order to provide the broadest range of telematics products, services and R&D capability in Europe.
Both, Cybit and Masternaut, are experts in vehicle tracking, fleet and driver management solutions.
According to a press release, the new organization will retain the Masternaut name and will be headquartered in Huntingdon, England. The new organization will design and deliver innovative solutions, in order to manage the mobile workforce. This capability will facilitate customers and partners to achieve evolutionary step-changes in their performance and service delivery.
The telematics companies joined forces to enable the strategic evolution of telematics from a tactical operational tool to an enterprise-wide information management solution, that can be accessed from a single, cloud-based platform.
The new Masternaut will not only provide modular telematics applications delivering step-changes for improving business performance, but will also provide customers with savings up to 20 percent on their fleet operating costs.
“The telematics market is undergoing rapid consolidation. With pan-European operations and the largest development team in the industry, Masternaut offers a clear choice for customers who want industry-leading products delivered by a strategic, long-term partner,” said Bill Henry (News - Alert), CEO for Masternaut Group, in a statement. “By combining Cybit and Masternaut, we can innovate faster, increase our geographic reach, raise industry standards, and bring customers compelling opportunities for improved business performance.”
The new organization will feature over 500 employees across Europe; over 100 research and development professionals; over 10,000 customers operating in 32 countries; and a broad range of solutions portfolio, such as the Sustainability+ platform and patented, fuel-saving CANbus Connector.
According to a press release, the Cybit-Masternaut agreement was overseen by technology-focused private equity firm, Francisco Partners that acquired Cybit Holdings in 2009.
Francisco Partners is focused exclusively on investments in technology and technology-enabled services businesses.
“Cybit and Masternaut have enjoyed great success as independent companies and joining forces will introduce a new level of service excellence in the telematics industry,” said Deep Shah, partner, Francisco Partners, in a statement. “Global fleets want to manage their mobile workforces more effectively; we believe the new Masternaut fulfils an important role by providing the strategic direction that will embed telematics into a greater number of performance-driven businesses.”
Last year, Cybit was ranked 13th in the Sunday Times International Fast Track, because it had achieved over 150 percent growth in sales during 2007-2010.
Recently, Masternaut launched a new custom iPhone and Android (News - Alert) app solution for clients who have been utilizing the company’s mobile solutions and vehicle tracking. The new app solution facilitates users to launch their own app, and make it available to their customers on the Apple (News
- Alert) app store or Android market.
