Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc., a supplier of thin film sensing technology to many industries, including automotive, medical, industrial controls, and consumer products, has received a follow-up order to supply their patented bi-directional Bend Sensors for use in the telecommunications industry.
The client company offers products used in industrial control, medical, consumer and building automation.
“It is gratifying to continue to receive follow-up orders from a company that has developed an impressive array of telecommunications products with unique and proprietary designs. This is a client that we have been dealing with on a recurring basis, and is a unique application of our Bend Sensor technology,” said Clark Mower, president of Flexpoint, in a statement.
“This further exemplifies the adaptability and versatility of our technology and wide variety of applications for which our Bend Sensor Technology is ideally suited. While the orders are currently for a small number of bi-directional sensors, the orders have been consistent and have the potential for increasing significantly as demand grows,” said Mower.
According to company officials, Bend Sensor, manufactured by Flexpoint, is the thinnest, lightest, most robust and cost-effective variable resistor available.
The Bend Sensor offers engineers new depth in design flexibility and non-mechanical reliability in electronic sensing and actuator technology.
Back in December, Flexpoint Sensor Systems announced receipt of a production purchase order for sensors to be used in theater seats.
Flexpoint not only designed and produced the custom sensors utilized in the system, but has developed and will produce the electronic controls for the system.
Earlier in November, Flexpoint Sensor Systems announced receipt of an additional follow-up production purchase order from INTERTEK Industrial Corp for products, including sensors and the associated electronics, to be utilized in Intertek’s (News - Alert) Protek Passenger Awareness System which features Bend Sensor technology.
