SIM Services, a Dutch-based M2M service provider, and Telenor (News - Alert) Connexion, have announced a joint partnership in order meet the needs of the fast growing M2M market in Europe.
Telenor Connexion will provide SIM Services with a wireless connectivity solution, including SIM-card management tools. Together with SIM Services’ M2M offer and their experience within multiple verticals this will enable flexible and future proof solutions.
The terms of the agreement will be able SIM Services to offer customized solutions, particularly with regards to multi-operator coverage, not only in The Netherlands, but also in other parts of Europe.
Marlene Häggström, head of Partner Management at Telenor Connexion said, “SIM Services in-depth M2M know-how and knowledge of the local markets were the main reason for selecting them as a long-term partner.”

- Alert) has signed an agreement to acquire Telenor Connexion's M2M technology platform.
Telenor Connexion, wholly owned by Telenor Group, a major mobile operator with 203 million mobile subscribers. This robust subscriber base prompted Ericsson to acquire Telenor Connexion's M2M Technology Platform.
The latest acquisition by Ericsson not only includes Telenor Connexion's M2M technology platform, but also transfers eleven employees who will continue to work with development of the service offering provided on Ericsson's Device Connection Platform.
Telenor Connexion's M2M technology platform is a service that enables operators to provide M2M connection beyond smartphones and laptops. This service was launched during the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) in February of this year.
Apart from providing telecom operators a way to set up tailored M2M services for enterprise customers, the Device Connection Platform also brings a 'software as a service' business model to the market, thereby facilitating low initial investment in technology and a fast time to market.
