Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) and TeleNav have just launched the TeleNav Asset Tracker, which is packed with features such as enhanced monitoring, reporting and recovery capabilities of high-value shipments and other mobile assets that are supposed to be highly beneficial to organizations.
According to the company, the TeleNav (News - Alert) Asset Tracker provides an effective and inexpensive way to track users’ mobile assets with a small, lightweight and portable device. It allows users to know the exact location of all their valuable assets which increases asset efficiency, ensure assets are present at places where they are supposed to be to reduce operational costs and enhance security over valuable assets by having a covert, hard-wired GPS device attached to assets at all times.
TeleNav Asset Tracker relies on the Verizon Wireless data network to enable machine-to-machine (M2M) data transfer between the company's portable monitoring devices and TeleNav's servers, making the data available to organizations via a secure, Web-based portal.
Verizon asserted that many businesses were in search of means to enhance the management of supply chain from end-to-end. For that a reliable network is essential, and the TeleNav Asset Tracker offers users with an all encompassing product that gives them the data they need to monitor assets once they hit the road, helping them to better manage their logistics operations, reduce theft and generate the detailed reporting their customers require.
Officials with TeleNav stated that the TeleNav Asset Tracker has been well received by a variety of businesses because it provides consistent and accurate location data even in challenging situations, from being placed in a single box as part of a high-value load to tracking a trailer traveling through extreme weather conditions. Combined with TeleNav’s secure management portal that provides a mapping engine, alerts, route monitoring and device management tools, it gives organizations a high level of control and visibility throughout the supply chain.
