Motorola Solutions, telecom infrastructure provider, announced it has showcased public safety vehicles with new LTE (News - Alert) devices at APCO 2011, a public safety communications event in North America.
The highlight of the demonstration includes the latest APX products, accessories and applications, live Long Term Evolution (LTE) demonstrations, public safety vehicles with access to Public Safety LTE networks and LTE Cloud Core services.
Latest additions to the APX portfolio include APX XE remote speaker microphone (RSM), the APX 7500 multiband consolette and new APX applications.

- Alert) Solutions, in a statement. “Many of the products and solutions that we are demonstrating this year are firsts for the industry, and we are proud to have developed these along with our partners in the public safety community.”
Al Ittner and Rishi Bhaskar, experts from Motorola, will be participating on panels to discuss topics focusing on the FCC (News - Alert) narrow banding mandate and broadband communications for first responders.
As part of its future strategies, Motorola will roll out two Public Safety LTE-equipped vehicles including Chevrolet Caprice PPV and Chevrolet Tahoe PPV.
These vehicles will be featuring VML700 LTE Vehicle Modem, integrated steering wheel push-to-talk (PTT), APX 7500 Multi-Band Mobile Radio with O9 Control Head that operates the mobile radio, siren and lights, MVX1000 Digital In-Car Video System, MW810 Mobile Workstation, Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR), Real-Time Video Intelligence (RTVI) and PremierOne Mobile.
Recently, Motorola Solutions announced enhancements to its MOTOTRBO digital two-way radio system including new radios, repeaters, accessories and system features. MOTOTRBO provides both low- and high-power repeaters to meet users’ varying coverage needs. It is available in UHF and VHF frequency bands.
