Smith360 Full Circle Driver Management has been introduced by Smith System. For the first time, full integration with on-road driver training is provided by a telematics solution, Smith360. Smith System Inc. has developed Smith360 in collaboration with Geotab Inc. Smith System is the top company in professional driver training across the world.
GPS, wireless communication and accelerometer technology are used by the simple plug and play device, the Smith360 GO5 module. Driver performance and vehicle dynamics information are supplied by this module. Fleet managers are able to clearly see trends in driver training effectiveness with a web-based dashboard. The dashboard also provides valuable information regarding fuel efficiency, route planning, tax reporting and vehicle maintenance.
In a release, Tony Douglas who is the Chief Executive Officer of Smith System said, "We have evaluated a variety of approaches to supporting our training initiatives through technology and found Geotab to be best in its combination of cost, installation simplicity, data integrity and reporting quality. Smith360 allows us to offer fleets a predictive, real-time monitoring solution tied directly to our proven training tactics that change driver behavior."
According to Jim Smith who is the Senior Vice President of Smith System Training, the company’s sixty years of experience in driver training has been combined with the latest telematics technology. The full circle of Monitoring, Analysis, Reporting, Intervention and Training is now provided to fleet managers. Smith added that he has never seen such a powerful driver management tool in his 30 years stint with Smith System.
Neil Cawse who is the CEO of Geotab said, "Smith360 is a great example of what Geotab calls 'management by measurement'. Smith's combination of our technology with their training programs is a very innovative solution for fleet managers."
