Averitt Express, Transite Technology Offer Carrier-Neutral Transport Management Solution

Averitt Express, a global provider of freight transportation and supply chain management, and Transite Technology, a provider technologies and services for 3PLs, brokers, shippers and carriers, announced a partnership to offer transportation management solutions in a carrier neutral environment.

Under the terms of the agreement, Averitt will offer Transite's transportation management products as part of the Averitt Transportation and Operations Management System (ATOM System).

In addition to Transite's award-winning JaguarTMS ATOM System, the partnership also offers Oracle (News - Alert) Transportation Management system. ATOM System provides highly configurable transportation management solutions that can be managed by Averitt or by customers, depending on their needs, company officials said.

"Our partnership with Transite is further execution of Averitt's strategic corporate objective to differentiate ourselves by offering transportation management solutions in a carrier neutral environment," said Phil Pierce, executive vice president of Sales and Marketing for Averitt Express, in a statement.

"With 40 years of transportation experience, we are well positioned to help our customers build world-class transportation management systems that are fully integrated into their supply chain," Pierce added.

Both companies have been working together to offer transportation management and freight services for manufacturing and retail companies including VF Outlet, which sells a variety of brands that comprise VF Corporation--including Wrangler, Lee Nautica, Jansport and more.

The integrated product offering has enabled VF to tightly control their transportation management, meaning they are able to keep their stores stocked with the right products at the right time. This has enabled the company to server their customers better and lessen the impact on environment.

"Based on the flexibility of ATOM System, their relationships and experience, Averitt is an excellent marketing and channel partner," said Geoff Comrie, CEO of Transite, in a statement. "Our companies have similar customer-focused cultures and work hard to be a strategic long-term business partner for our customers.”

Earlier this year, E2open, a provider of cloud-based supply chain management solutions, announced that the company has been selected by Averitt Express to streamline the process for implementing OTM, enabling Averitt's customers to be efficiently onboarded and supported at a predictable cost.
