ITEXPO is known for having some of the best keynote addresses from experienced telecom veterans that assist in setting the stage for trends in the industry that will be reinforced throughout panels and in the exhibit hall at the show.
DHL, a well known global transportation and delivery provider deploys M2M technology to revolutionize how we manage highly sensitive cargo and how to transform how the integrity of these high profile shipments is managed.
When Matt Groppe, director of global business development for DHL Same Day, took the stage, it was clear by his introduction that he is a problem solver.
“Where we have to innovate is in what we don’t see,” Groppe said when explaining the ways that DHL utilizes innovative technologies like M2M communications.
He continued that if you cannot connect with your customers in real time, it’s very easy to lose touch with them and become disconnected.
Markets are constantly changing, therefore, companies are forced to adapt to these advancements at a rapid pace. For the transportation and delivery industry, according to Groppe, the challenge is delivering cargo on time, securely and in the condition the customer expects, because it is no longer cost effective.
Groppe also shared a video featuring a mission critical instance in which DHL provided its unmatched level of delivery service and transportation to a patient who received five days worth of chemotherapy in one single treatment. In order to prevent a fatal mistake, DSL was brought in to transport a vital antidote to the woman within 48 hours to save the woman’s life. Groppe explained that in order to complete the mission successfully, someone at DHL had to be put on a plane and travel around the world to ensure the package met its destination.
DHL’s multi-sensor platform is a full sensor suite that provides a global, built in device that is compliant and adheres to fast deployment as well as GPS capabilities.
