ACELYNK, SensorLogic Partner to Provide Cloud-Based Solutions for Tracking and Managing International Shipping

SensorLogic (News - Alert), Inc., provider of cloud-based platforms enabling development of machine-to-machine (M2M) applications, announced that it has entered into a partnership with ACELYNK, provider of Web-based applications used in international shipping and Customs management, to drive development of a smart shipment tracking and Customs compliant solution for enhancing international trade.

In a release, Matthew Fotouhi, president and CEO of ACELYNK, said that, “What’s unique about the solution we’re building is its ability to create a complete, virtual representation of customers’ shipments, and track international shipments on an end-to-end basis. These virtual shipments – including data about location, Customs processing status, and other information – exist completely in the cloud. They automatically update in sync with the actual physical shipments as those goods move through their transit routes. Our solution will deliver unprecedented visibility and greatly enhanced management capabilities across what traditionally has been a complex, disjointed and mostly opaque process.”

Through this agreement, SensorLogic will extend its Service Delivery Platform to ACELYNK to help in the development of a cloud-based offering that will enhance tracking and managing of import and export shipment for companies involved in international trade. The cloud based solution will help in location tracking and provide complete shipment status beginning from the starting point to its destination. The platform’s APIs (application programming interfaces) will ensure instrumentation, tracking of location and provide reports on shipments that employ advanced devices and technologies.

The cloud based solution will also reduce administration related tasks and ensure customs compliance such as those imposed by FDA and other governmental agencies. Additionally, customs brokers and importers can access shipment information from any location. The open solution design of the solution will ensure easy integration with shipping and enterprise IT systems that are currently in use and provide access to specific parties such as manufacturers, shipping agents, as well as Customs brokers involved in international shipping transactions.

Michael Campbell, president, and CEO of SensorLogic said that, “The work we’re doing with ACELYNK clearly illustrates the advantages of the platform approach to M2M application enablement. Our platform is helping ACELYNK to build a solution that will transform customers’ operations, create real competitive advantages, and improve efficiency and lower costs. For companies that use global supply chains or have business models that involve high volumes of international shipping, the ACELYNK solution will be a real game-changer.”
