Having established the International M2M Competence Center in February 2010 in order to proliferate M2M technology globally, Deutsche Telekom AG (News - Alert) achieved yet another milestone with the creation of an M2M partner portal, which it presented at an international meeting in Rotterdam.
“We are creating an M2M marketplace between our constantly expanding global partner network and our customers, who can find solutions for their specific usage scenarios here," said Rainer Deutschmann, senior vice president of core business products at Deutsche Telekom, in a statement.
One hundred and fifty solution partners had an opportunity to present and promote their M2M applications and end-to-end solutions to hardware, software and service providers and to system integrators.
According to the company, the partner portal was expected to serve as a platform for the growth of M2M communications.
The portal also allows prospective new partners and customers to find the right partner companies and also obtain information about existing products. It gives newcomers a chance to innovate and develop new ideas.
A solution finder allows users to search for solutions either by country or area of application and also with the help of keywords. In cooperation with partners, the Competence Center has already provided M2M developer kits for users.
The company claims that its partner portal is unique as it is the first transnational platform of its kind to help partners develop and market their solution in the growing M2M market.
Launching solutions from 16 different countries, the Deutsche Telekom M2M portal showcases solutions from nine areas of application that is spread over a wide spectrum of industry.
In another news story, Deutsche Telekom AG will be presenting new solutions for the energy industry to an international audience at Metering Europe in Amsterdam from Oct. 4-6.
