OPN is a partner program that allows its partners with tools to better develop, sell and implement Oracle solutions. With Gold level membership, Oracle has recognized HCTA for its commitment to establish Oracle-related knowledge and excellence by combining Hitachi's SuperJ Applications Environment and Oracle's embedded Java products. "Even simple devices can now host apps - the combination of Java and Hitachi's standards-compliant client-server architecture minimizes processing demand on end-user devices while supporting high performance through efficiency and resource sharing," David Foote (News - Alert), chief technology officer at Hitachi Communications Technologies America said in a press release.
"Oracle's embedded Java products are a fundamental building block of the SuperJ platform, and together they realize the goal of a universal ecosystem that offers multiple unifying characteristics, including 'write once, run anywhere,' 'any app, any device' and 'many apps, one device' -- promoting the proliferation of applications well beyond the smart phone and tablet worlds," Foote added.
As believed by both the companies, this combined platform offers ease of development, deployment, optimization and management of applications in an extremely broad range of industry segments, including Machine-to-Machine, embedded systems, and service provider subscriber applications.
With its OPN Gold level status, Hitachi Communication Technologies America, Inc. will now receive the benefit of being able to develop specializations designed to allow their customers to grow their businesses, reach higher levels of customer retention, and create differentiation in the marketplace.
Hitachi said it will demonstrate the SuperJ Applications Environment at JavaOne 2011, most recognized educational and networking event for Java developers and enthusiasts held in San Francisco from October 2-6, 2011.
"Java has become ubiquitous with over 3 billion Java-enabled devices deployed. Deploying embedded Java with the Hitachi SuperJ Applications Environment can provide all the advantages of Java and the ease of deploying multiple applications side-by-side efficiently and economically," Geoffrey Morton, Oracle Group Vice President, Worldwide Java Sales, said in a statement.
In related news, Hitachi, Ltd. and Hi-Rel Electronics Pvt. Ltd., announced closing of a transaction under which Hitachi has made a majority equity investment in Hi-Rel, in a move to strengthen Hitachi's and Hi-Rel's power electronics business in India.
