The awards, organized by Hong Kong’s leading IT magazine, Sing Tao PC Market, are the region’s premier event for the IT industry.

Officials said that the M2M communications category of the “IT Solutions Excellence” award reflects the increasing momentum of the M2M industry in Hong Kong and China.

Getting recognized at the Biz.IT Excellence Awards solidifies Lantronix’ leadership in the area of M2M communications, validates its reputation as an innovator and also highlights its ability to provide solutions designed to strengthen and simplify security for companies of any size.

Lantronix’ M2M solutions provide high quality wireless connectivity and thus enable businesses to securely transmit information across networks while ensuring data integrity and privacy.

“Winning this award is extremely gratifying, as it confirms our efforts to accelerate the deployment of M2M technologies in the Asia Pacific region. With our recently expanded presence in the region, the timing could not be better,” said Roy Luk, director of Asia Pacific Sales at Lantronix, in a release.

“We believe that with the Chinese Government’s inclusion of the ‘Internet of Things’ initiative in its ambitious 12th Five-Year Plan, M2M technologies will take on a vital role in realizing this goal. We look forward to partnering with companies around greater China to roll out such solutions in telemedicine, power line communications, and metering technology to make the ‘Internet of Things’ a reality.”

In related news, Germany-based Eusotec has selected Lantronix’ technology to develop its own flagship product, the ‘Mini-Data Logger and Web Server’. The Lantronix WiBox and WiPort device servers enable Eusotec to provision and provide PC-independent remote monitoring systems for varied applications.
