Cinterion Releases New High-Speed Automotive M2M Module


Cinterion (News - Alert), a major player in cellular machine-to-machine communication modules and a Gemalto company, recently introduced AH3, its new high-speed automotive M2M module.

The newly announced AH3 boasts of a new triple-diversity antenna design and delivers reliable always-on communications across global 2G and 3G cellular networks for advanced applications.

The advanced applications include onboard vehicle computing, Internet access, fleet management as well as automatic eCall and emergency roadside assistance, integrated hands free calling and much more.

Officials said that the module’s SIM Access Profile enables easy integration of additional wireless devices, connection with smartphones and software applications. The analog audio processing and advanced voice support provide superior hands-free capabilities.

A common footprint with forthcoming LTE (News - Alert) modules is shared by the AH3’s compact, single-sided design.

The ruggedized AH3 module, featuring a totally new and improved triple-diversity antenna concept that is based on pogo pads, enables simple and reliable mounting at reduced total cost of ownership.

The three antennas allow always-on communications with simultaneous voice, data and continuous GPS tracking for true multi-tasking.

Extended temperature range and improved power management of AH3 helps preserve battery power and guarantee longevity even in extreme vibration, moisture and temperature conditions typical of automotive applications.

In related news, Cinterion together with its partners Inside M2M and MC Technologies have surpassed the 100,000 milestone for Konica Minolta (News - Alert) multifunctional office machines equipped with their joint M2M communications and remote monitoring and management solution.
