The largest utility sector fleet deployment has been successfully completed by Webtech Wireless Inc.
More than 750 additional units and related multi-year subscriptions for ASP services were delivered by Webtech Wireless as part of the project. These units and subscriptions were delivered to an existing utility customer in the US South East. In a record time of less than six weeks, Webtech has successfully completed the project. A further expansion order for 2012 delivery has been announced by the company in the weeks following the completion of the project.
Webtech Wireless' Quadrant and InterFleet products will be used by the client to monitor over 1,500 vehicles and assets after all the projects have been completed. A diverse fleet of vehicles is operated by the private utility. These include specialized boom trucks and other vehicles unique to the gas and electric utility sector. Accurate Power-Take-Off data are provided by the sensor technology included in the installations. The sensor technology also provides interfacing to the vehicles diagnostics bus. This deployment offers operational improvements. Critical safety and crew supervisory issues for the customer are also solved by this deployment and related ASP solutions.
In a release, Scott Edmonds, President and CEO of Webtech Wireless, said, "We are pleased to announce the completion of this deployment which was significant for its size and speed of completion, particularly when measured against the depth of the customer challenges it solves."
According to Edmonds, the company’s vision for combining the best of Quadrant and InterFleet has been validated with this rollout. The rollout also proves the efficacy of the company’s end to end solution and the appeal of the company’s mixed telematics product line for customers.
End-to-end wireless solutions are developed, manufactured and supported by Webtech Wireless. The productivity, profitability, environmental compliance and safety of vehicle fleets are improved with these solutions. Customers of all sizes in the transport, government, service, insurance and OEM markets in more than forty-one countries are served by the company.
