M2M technology allows network-ready devices to connect and share real-time data and the telematics market is touted to be one of the most significant segments of the M2M industry that provides revenue growth areas for global service providers. These facts have been highlighted in a New Research Report Package that has been recently published at Market Publishers Ltd.
Titled “M2M and Telematics Solutions and Market Opportunities” and elaborated by Mind Commerce Publishing, the package features extensive research and in-depth analysis of the M2M Telematics segment and other related technologies.
According to the press release, with the passage of time, the telematics market has become more mature and has acted as a 'test bed environment ' for better, robust, durable and more reliable telecommunications components. To-day, the scenario has changed from a 'Vehicle only to 'Other Products also' as we see M2M services automating processes not only in trucks but in machinery and even heart and blood pressure monitors.
Telematics service providers have taken note of this 'extra mileage' and have come up with value added services to create application-specific M2M services for other vertical markets as well.
This is exemplified by the fact that as sensor technology becomes cheaper and more popular, the M2M market has been expanding from a Business- Business (B-B) environment to a combination of of B-B and B-B-C (business-to-business –to-consumer) services.
Used primarily by companies to streamline fleet operations and billing procedures, M2M telematics is now being extended to help fleet managers to control and track their vehicles. It appears to be only a matter of time before it is widely used to cut operating costs and increase efficiency.
