Dr. Jeff Smith (News - Alert), Numerex’s Chief Technology Officer said in a release, “These two new patents are a further testament to Numerex’s expertise and industry leadership.  Our team of talented associates is relentlessly searching for advanced technologies that can help companies generate more revenue and operational efficiencies.”

“Well over a million of users of the Numerex patented platform benefit from these technologies today. We aim to create innovative carrier-grade solutions for the M2M industry, consistently and reliably,” Smith added.

Numerex M2M business services, technology, and products help in the development and support of M2M solutions for the enterprise and government markets. The Numerex DNA includes hardware and smart Devices, cellular and satellite Networkservices, and software Applicationsthat are delivered through Numerex FAST (Foundation Application Software Technology).

It was revealed that in the fourth quarter of 2011, the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted Numerex two new patents. The first patent enables a digital/analog management system for wireless customer premises equipment (CPE). The second patent is for enabling a more efficient messaging over a data network.

According to officials the digital upgrade system translates a command from analog to digital in order to broadcast it over a wireless digital network. Also the system can translate a digital message to an analog command to be received by a functionality module of a wireless CPE Host.

Numerex has developed a method for message delivery over a data network for which the company received the second patent. On detecting the communications protocol between two interacting communication devices, a telemetry gateway or short message arbitrator converts the message to a compatible data format.

After which the telemetry gateway or short message arbitrator forwards the message for receipt without a store-and-forward process. In case of M2M applications, the physical manifestation of this patent, the Numerex Digital Gateway (News - Alert) enables the delivery of short messages to and from cellular devices. This provides near real-time feedback to customers very rapidly besides also including the state of the message. It shows a confirmation that it was delivered, or, if not, the reason why it was not delivered, explained officials.

In SEPTEMBER 2011 Numerex announced the launch of FASTrack Fleet, its new complete solution for fleet and wireless management. Leveraging FASTrack Fleet, fleet managers can integrate a configurable Web-based application with monitoring devices that can connect via satellite or cellular. The new fleet management solution has the power to aggregate, analyze, and take action on data collected from different sources.
