Globecomm Plans to Demonstrate Wireless, M2M and Maritime Technologies


Globecomm Systems (News - Alert), a global provider of communications solutions and services, has confirmed its participation at NTCA (News - Alert) Wireless Symposium taking place at New Orleans, Louisiana; Digital Ship in Hamburg, Germany; and at the M2M/Business Video Evolution Conference happening in Miami, Florida.

Being a specialist in satellite-based managed network solutions, the company plans to showcase its latest technological capabilities at these upcoming trade shows.

Employing its expertise in emerging communication technologies, the company offers a comprehensive suite of system integration, system products, and network services enabling a complete end-to-end solution for its customers. Recently launched Globecomm Maritime solution is part of the display, which offers a suite of maritime communication solutions for the maritime market sectors, commercial, fishing, leisure and government.

The company leverages its global network to provide customers managed access services to the United States Internet backbone, video content, the public switched telephone network or their corporate headquarters, or government offices.

They currently have customers for which they are providing various services in the United States, Europe, South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

The company recently won contract modification from a multinational organization which is worth $3.1 million. The original contract is to design and develop the overall system, including production and integration of new ground terminals and upgrade kits for existing terminals; management of the project; testing and hand-over of the systems; supply of tools and test equipment; supply of documentation and training of users and maintainers.

Not only this, recently the company reported the winning of a $6 million service contract from a US Government agency. Two of Globecomm’s wholly-owned subsidiaries – Globecomm Services Maryland and Cachendo – are going to execute the contract through their joint efforts, company officials revealed.
