Sprint and Verizon Wireless Speak at the M2M Evolution Conference


Sprint, a global provider of voice, data and Internet services, along with Verizon Wireless (News - Alert), a provider of broadband and other wireless and wireline communications services, will be providing their perspective about the M2M Industry at the M2M Evolution Conference scheduled to take place at Miami. Both TMC (News - Alert) and Crossfire Media announced that a number of companies will be taking part in the M2M Evolution Conference, to be held from February 1-3, 2012 in the Miami Beach Convention Center.

In a release, Event co-chair Nikki Cuban, said, “Our last event focused on how M2M-based innovations in the transportation industry help businesses streamline their operations and save money. In Miami we’re taking things a step further to discuss how innovation is not just driven by verticals, but by platforms that rapidly accelerate the pace and the efficiency of M2M deployments.”

The event will be marked by keynote addresses from Wayne Ward, Senior VP, Emerging Solutions Group, Sprint (News - Alert) and from Stave Barna, Associate Director of SMB-M2M, Verizon Wireless.

Each of the sessions will feature thoughts and views of the carrier’s over future trends and outlook of the M2M industry. Also delivering their perspective about the M2M industry at the event will be: Verizon’s Manager of Global Strategy for M2M, Sai Yagnyamurthy; Ammar Rayes, Senior Director, Cisco; Joe Brion, Axeda’s (News - Alert) Director of Product Innovation; J. Gerry Purdy, Mobile Tax Analyst; Nikolas Papadopoulos, President, U-Blox; and Jim Cairns, Multi-Tech’s VP of Marketing. Among other participants at the conference will be: Steve Hudson, VP of Business Development at OmniLink; Ken Hosac, Cradlepoint’s VP of Business Development; John Canosa, General Manager of Thingworx; Tom Shafron, CEO, Viewbiquity; Brian Allred, Wilson Electronics’ Senior Manager, M2M; and Seth Early, CEO, Early & Associates.

James Brehm, conference co-chair, said, “In Miami, we’re adding a stronger carrier presence to the show, and we’re expanding the message from asset tracking, to healthcare, to energy and the smart grid - to showcase how M2M is being adopted across multiple vertical markets. There are more similarities than differences in how these industry participants utilize the technology, and common unifying threads, such as the platform and the cloud, will be showcased.”
