"We are very pleased to be working with Quake Global in developing a new generation of satellite communicators that will bring enhanced performance and value to our customers," said Peter Dalton, CEO of Globalstar, Inc., in a statement.
Dalton said that the company will capitalize on the unique experience and expertise that a world-class manufacturer and global distributor like Quake Global brings to the critical and rapidly expanding commercial M2M asset tracking and data communications market. He said that this agreement also further demonstrates Globalstar's continuing commitment to improve the selection and quality of its innovative mobile satellite data and voice products.
"We are excited about the opportunities that our new association with Globalstar brings to Quake Global. The addition of the Globalstar Network to Quake's product line will greatly expand Quake's ability to offer its customers reliable, robust, and accurate processing and transmittal of asset-related information in global markets previously unserved by Quake,” said Polina Braunstein, president and CEO of Quake Global.
Braunstein said that also, for the first time, Quake will be able to offer satellite voice capability in addition to its well-established data transmittal services.
He said that Quake Global is proud of its position as a leading designer and manufacturer of satellite communicators for many global OEMs.
“The addition of the Globalstar Network will provide a whole new category of efficient and cost effective choices. Globalstar's large data capacity, nominal latency, and voice capabilities are all features that certain customers require, and now we can meet their needs," Braunstein added.
Quake expects to deliver its first model of Globalstar products by the end of 2009 and will introduce a complete line of Globalstar communicators in 2010.
